Local wood floor fitters
Local supply and fitting of wood flooring across Wandsworth, with a free survey and written quote.
If you are searching for local fitters in Wandsworth, here is how supply and fitting works with us. You tell us about your rooms, we visit for a free survey, and you get a written quote.
We cover Wandsworth and the neighbourhoods around it.

We work in Wandsworth Town, Battersea, Putney, Clapham Junction, Balham, Tooting, Earlsfield, Southfields, Wandsworth Common and Roehampton. Each has a page with local detail on the homes and what to consider for floors there. If you are close to these areas but not sure, send your postcode and we will confirm.
These are good questions for anyone, and we are happy to answer them for ourselves.
None of this is essential. We can work it out on the day, but it helps us give a more accurate quote.
We supply and fit solid wood, engineered, herringbone and parquet floors. Read more about solid wood floors, engineered boards or herringbone and parquet floors, or see how a job is carried out on our installation page.
At the survey we measure each room, check the subfloor for flatness and moisture, and talk through the board, pattern and finish. Your written quote lists what is included. Before laying, boards are acclimatised in the room, and an expansion gap is left at the walls to be covered by skirting or beading. Thresholds and transitions are fitted last.
We fit floors in Victorian and Edwardian terraces, family houses, flats and mansion blocks. Flats raise questions about sound and leases, and older houses about levels. The area pages above give detail on the neighbourhood you live in.
R3 Carpentry have fitted floors for 14 years, are fully insured and boards carry the manufacturer's guarantee. Your free quote follows a free site survey, with no obligation.
A hardwood floor can be solid or engineered, in planks or in a pattern such as herringbone or chevron. Oak is the usual choice. Solid boards suit a timber base in a period house. Engineered boards suit flats, new builds and rooms with underfloor heating. A pattern floor suits a room you want to feel finished. If you are unsure, send photos and we will talk it through.
Fixing depends on the board and the base: secret-nailed to joists or plywood, glued to a prepared subfloor, or floated over underlay. Existing floorboards are secured and levelled first. Finishes include hardwax oil for a natural look and lacquer for a harder surface, in matt or satin, and boards can be stained or left natural. Each choice affects care and cost, so we explain them at the survey.
We are happy to answer all of these at the free survey.
We protect the surrounding area, move the boards into the room to acclimatise where needed, and prepare the subfloor. The floor is laid to the agreed pattern, with a gap left at the walls, then finished with skirting, beading and thresholds. At handover we go through care, so you know how to look after the floor. You will have your written quote to hand throughout, so you know what was agreed. If anything changes once the old floor is lifted, such as an uneven base, we tell you before any extra work starts.
Most enquiries start with photos and a few details sent by WhatsApp or email. We then arrange a free survey at a time that suits you, and the written quote follows. If you have questions afterwards, send a message and we will answer them. The area pages above cover the neighbourhoods we work in.
